McLennan and Hill Counties Tehuacana Creek Water Improvement District #1
Tehuacana Creek (Segment 1242N) is an unclassified water body in the Brazos River basin located northeast of Waco. This intermittent stream with perennial pools is the main drainage for the eastern part of McLennan County before joining the Brazos River (Figure 1).
History of District
A watershed is the geographical boundary within which water flows after a storm event. A typical watershed is depicted in Diagram 1below.

General Manager
Dr. Larry Lehr
is the manager of the McLennan and Hill Counties Tehuacana Creek Water Improvement District (TCWID). He previously served as a Director (1979-1993). He graduated with a BBA from Texas Tech University, a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from Baylor University, and a Ph.D. in Rangeland Ecology from Texas A&M University, College Station. Dr. Lehr is retired after 30 years of service at Baylor University where he taught classes in Environmental Science including courses in Watershed Management.
